Hope everyone had a great Christmas and hope
you have a happy new year.
Crappie fishing is getting better the water is
cooling off so the bite is getting good. Fish the bluffs in 20 ft of water
and more fishing 12 to 15 ft deep. Fish the outside trees along the bluffs
and don't be in a hurry. The best is to use double jigs in the 1/16 oz
sizes. You can try two different colors art the same time but blk/char is
the beat. We fished Wednesday and caught several and some good ones.
Remember its cool out so be patient!
Catfish are being caught in the main lake
channels in 20 plus feet of water and fishing 15 ft deep. The best is
fresh cut bait but hot dogs and frozen shad will work. This time of year
you can catch some good ones so don't let the cold keep you away.
Ducks are here by the hundreds so if you are
looking for a trip to remember call Bucksaw and we will set you up with
Jeff Faulkenberry you will have the duck hunt of your life. And if you are
wanting a fishing trip call Richard, our boats are ready.

Crappie are going strong and the bite is good.
We are catching them on the bluffs in 20 plus feet of water using a double
jig. Black and chartreuse have been the best. Fish in 12 to 14 ft. deep and
fish the outer trees on the bluffs. Don't be in a hurry. The ends of the
bluffs and across the mouth of the creeks are the best. Some big ones are
being caught. The bite will get even better when the water cools more.
Catfish are being caught in the main lake channels in 25 ft. of water
fishing 15 ft. deep. Any kind of bait will work but the best is fresh cut
shad. Fish using jugs and the action can be good and very good eating out of
this cold water.

Crappie have move to the main lake flats. Fish in 15 ft of
water fishing 10 ft deep. Look for the hedges and the
cedars .The best bite is from here to long shoal. Look for
the isolated trees and keep on the move. We had some good
weights come in for the crappie masters tourn.
White Bass are being caught on the humps and the saddles.
Fish in 15 ft of water just off the bottom using jiggig
spoons. We are seeing several white and hybrids come in.
Catfish are being caught on the flats in 10 ft of water
fishing 8 ft deep. Fish with live perch for the best
results. we are seeing several flats come in.
Bass fishing is good. The best bite is on the points in 2
to 10 ft of water. Fish with buzzbaits early. Mid day use
a big worm.

Crappie fishing is good. The
willow trees are holding lots of fish. Fish the willows
that have 4 ft or more on them using minnows. Fish the
outer trees and keep on the move. Not every willow will
have a bite but if you find one with a bite you will catch
more than one. Mostly 10 to 12 inch fish being caught.
Catfish are being caught on
the flats in 15 ft of water . For blue cats fish with
fresh cut bait and for flat heads used live bait.
Black Bass are being caught in
the bushes using 10 inch worms and spiinnerbaits. All bass
are being caught in 5 ft of water or less.
White bass are being caught
on the humps in 10 ft ftwater. Fish jigging spoons on the
bottom.

Crappie fishing has changed
some .We are catching some on the banks but most have
moved out. You can catch some in the willows and buck
brush but the best approach is spider rigging or slow
trolling. We have been catching limits in the creeks in 15
ft of water fishing 10 ft deep.We are double rigging
minnows and following the contour of the
banks. Remember fish the whole creek and you will catch
fish.
Black Bass are being caught in
the buck brush. Fish the willows and buck brush on the
points in 1 ft to 6 ft of water using blk/blu jig and
frog. We are seeing lots of blacks being caught.
White Bass are being caught on
the humps in 15 ft of water. Fish the humps using jigging
spoons in the 1/2 oz weight. Most are being caught in the
damn area. The reason the whites are on the humps is
because the are releasing water as long as they do that
the white bass fishing will be good.
Catfish are being caught on
trot lines and jug lines. If you are wanting to catch flat
heads us live bait such as perch and fish in 15 ft of
water on the flats and set your lines at 7 ft deep. If you
are around trees and brush you results are better. If you
are wanting to catch blue cats fish along the channels in
20 ft and fish 15 ft deep. Fresh cut bait is the best.
Remember Truman lake is at its
best for crappie when its hot out. The hotter it gets the
better the fishing. And you don't have to fish deep.

Crappie fishing is very good the
fish are being caught on the banks and in the bushes just
off the banks. The bushes are holding the most fish the best
approach is to vertical fish the with minnows or jigs. The
bushes with no green on them is the best.
Bass are being caught in the
trash along the banks. Fish a jig and frog in the trash and
work it through it. Black and blue is the best color. Fish
the creeks and pockets for the best results.
Catfish are being caught in 10
ft of water fishing 6 ft deep. We are seeing a lot of blue
cats come in. Rod and reel and jugs working the best. Fresh
cut bait is a must.

Crappie fishing is good the fish
are moving back to the banks. We had several limits come in
today caught in 2 ft of water. All were using jigs. Blk/char
was the color of choice. Fish the 1/16 oz jig weedless so you
can fish around the brush close to the banks. The lake is up 4
ft so the buck brush holds lots of fish.
Bass are being caught on spinner
baits and jigs. The best approach is fish the buck brush. The
bass are still in ten pockets. So keep on the move.
Catfish are being caught on the
flats in 15 ft of water fishing 10 ft deep. Fish with fresh
cut bait. Mostly white cats being caught.
White Bass no report.

Crappie
spawn is on !!! The fish have hit the banks all
over the Bucksaw area. Fish the creeks and the pockets in 1 to
4 ft of water. You can catch them casting the banks with a
small jig or you can fish a bobber set at 1 ft throwing to the
bank and working it back to you. The bite is good so now is
the time to be here.
Bass are being caught in the
pockets and creeks on jigs and spinner baits. Fish the flat
pockets in 1 to 6 ft of water and keep on the move. There are
lots of bass being caught in the Bucksaw area. And some good
ones.
Catfish are being caught on the
flats in 15 ft of water using cut bait. Set your lines down 10
ft with fresh cut shad and you will catch some good blue cats.
Jugs working good also.
The crappie have just hit the
banks so should be good for a while for the bank fishing of
come on down. Some big ones being caught.

Crappie fishing is still good even
with the bad weather that came in. We had snow and wind and
very cold but the fisherman came in with a lot of crappie. The
pattern was basically the same other than the move out just a
little. Fish the pockets and creeks in 15 ft of water and fish
down 10 ft. Spider rigging and dipping trees is working.
Minnows and jigs working the same. Jig color blk/pink.
Bass are being caught
in the pockets and creeks in 3 to 5 ft of water. The bite has
been later in the day after the water warms up. Fish
the north pocket that are wind protected. spinner baits and
crank baits working the best.

flats in 15 ft of water fishing 8 ft deep. Fresh cut bait is
the best. Fish the flats using jug lines and trotlines.
